Spring Branch
Terraces and lawn treated as one continuous surface.
Pool Terraces and a
Curved Lawn in Spring Branch
Two Spring Branch backyards. One is a large-format paver terrace with turf joints, wrapping a pool and a square fire feature right up to the house glazing. The other runs the same joint detail out from the pool and then opens into a broad curved lawn with planters set on it.
The lawn is the more interesting build, because it changes from a strip detail to an open curved surface in one continuous run — seamed rather than butted, with the pile direction carried through, so the eye reads it as one piece of ground. The covered balcony is a different job entirely: no soil under it, so the turf is bonded over a drainage layer that protects the waterproofing, cut precisely to the threshold and the parapet.
