Turf Mission
We started TNT Turf because Houston families deserve better than losing weekends to mowing and watering. Our mission is simple, give you a lawn you can enjoy every day, all year long, without the work that usually comes with it.

Landscaping with artificial grass is more than a strip of green. We design the whole yard: turf zones, paver paths, rock borders, and planting beds that stay sharp through Houston heat, humidity, and clay soil, with no weekly mow and no summer water bill.
Most Houston yards have a few zones that never work. A shaded strip under the live oaks where St. Augustine thinned to dirt. A soggy low spot that pools after every storm and breeds mosquitoes the rest of the week. A slope by the driveway that is too steep to mow and too dry to grow. Landscaping with artificial grass lets us fix each zone at once and tie them into one plan instead of patching problems one at a time.
We start by measuring the yard and reading where the water goes. Then we design the layout: turf where you walk and play, pavers and rock where you do not, and beds of hardy plants for color. Every turf zone sits on a compacted double base that drains a Gulf downpour straight through the clay. We seam and edge the turf to the borders so the whole yard looks built, not patched. After it is finished, it wants a rinse now and then and nothing else.
We design the whole yard. That means a layout, not a roll of grass dropped over dirt. We plan the turf zones you walk and play on, the paver and stone areas you do not, and the planting beds that add color. Then we build all of it as one job with matched borders. After 30-plus years of Houston installs, we know which zones need turf and which need hardscape.
Drainage is designed in, not hoped for. Houston clay is why yards pool: water reaches it and stops. Under every turf zone we build a compacted double base of open-graded aggregate, and the turf backing is perforated, so a Gulf downpour moves down instead of standing. Paver and rock areas get graded to shed water toward the beds and drains. Genuine low spots get re-graded during excavation.
A clean design gives you the best shot. Master-planned communities like Katy, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands watch the front of a house closely. We use multi-tone turf and sharp paver or steel borders so the yard reads as premium, and we hand you the product spec sheet and a written build description to attach to your submittal. Read your own deed restrictions first, because we cannot speak for an individual association.
Yes, and we usually should. A good design keeps the mature live oaks, the beds you like, and any hardscape worth saving, then works turf around them. We excavate shallower over surface roots and hand-work those areas so the tree is not damaged. The goal is one finished yard where the new turf, the old trees, and your existing plants look like they were planned together.
A designed yard beats a plain lawn where grass keeps failing: shade, slopes, soggy corners, and beds that need water you do not want to buy. If that sounds like your yard, a turf-and-hardscape plan will hold where grass will not.

We strip the existing lawn and excavate down to a clean, stable sub-grade. Old roots, thatch, and loose topsoil all come out, because anything organic left behind will settle later and telegraph through the finished turf.
Flexible poly board is staked around the entire perimeter to lock the base in place. It holds your shape through curves and radii, keeps the aggregate from migrating into beds, and gives the turf a clean edge to be fastened to.
The first base layer goes down and is graded for drainage. This is the load-bearing course that carries foot traffic and keeps the surface from rutting, and it is where the finished contours of the yard are established.
A second, finer layer is screeded over the first to true the surface. Two layers instead of one is what separates a lawn that stays flat for years from one that dips and waves after the first wet season.
The base is plate-compacted to spec, then the turf is rolled out, allowed to relax, and cut to the yard. Seams are aligned to a single blade direction and joined so they disappear, and the turf is nailed off along every edge.
Silica infill is spread and worked in with a power broom, lifting every blade upright as it goes. Infill is what gives the lawn its ballast, its underfoot feel, and its ability to stand back up after traffic.
We do a final groom, clear the site, and walk the finished yard with you edge to edge. What you are left with is a lawn that looks cut every day of the year, with no mowing, watering, or seasonal brown-out.

Every yard we install gets measured twice, leveled right, and finished like it’s our own backyard. If a job isn’t done the right way, it’s not a job we’re willing to put our name on, plain and simple.
By 2030, we want to help turn 10,000 Houston backyards into low-water, low-maintenance green spaces. It’s our way of making Houston greener and more sustainable, giving families more time to enjoy their yards instead of maintaining them.
From your first quote to the final walkthrough, we keep pricing fair, communication honest, and show up when we say we will. It’s our way of making sure every customer feels taken care of, not just sold to.

Most turf landscaping projects in Houston fall between $10 and $18 per square foot installed. A full design costs more than a plain lawn because you are also paying for pavers, rock borders, and planting beds. Size, base prep, and how much hardscape you add all move the number. We measure on site and give you a written, itemized quote for free.
Yes, and that is the point of a designed yard. We lay turf in the zones you walk and play on, then frame it with paver paths, stone patios, river-rock borders, and beds of drought-tolerant plants. Clean steel or concrete edging keeps the turf and the beds apart so nothing bleeds together. The finished yard looks planned, not like grass rolled over bare dirt.
Yes. Real St. Augustine and Bermuda struggle here with chinch bugs, brown patch, and deep shade under live oaks. Turf stays green through August heat and humidity with no watering. Today's multi-tone blades and varied pile heights read as a real lawn from the curb. Turf does run warmer than grass on hot afternoons, so we keep it away from the seating and shade you use most.

A back yard that drains on clay, stands up to dogs and August sun, and stays green without a sprinkler.

Curb-appeal turf with clean borders that holds its color year-round and passes most HOA rules.

Tour-quality greens with true roll, custom contours, and the cup count you want.
Most residential projects are complete in 2–4 days. Larger commercial installs typically take 1–2 weeks.
Every install carries the manufacturer's product warranty against fading and wear, plus our own workmanship coverage on seams, edging, and base. Full terms come with your proposal.
Yes. We install lead-free, non-toxic turf over a permeable base that drains quickly, and we can add an antimicrobial infill for pet areas to keep odours down.
A rinse now and then and an occasional cross-brush of the high-traffic paths. No mowing, no watering, no fertiliser, and no seasonal brown-out.
Turf runs warmer than a natural lawn in direct sun. We specify cooler yarn and lighter infill where a yard gets full afternoon exposure, and a quick rinse brings the surface temperature straight back down.
Pricing depends on square footage, the turf you choose, and how much prep the site needs. We measure on site and give you a fixed written quote before any work starts.
