Turf Mission
We started TNT Turf because Houston families deserve better than losing weekends to mowing and watering. Our mission is simple, give you a lawn you can enjoy every day, all year long, without the work that usually comes with it.

The edge of a Houston pool is the hardest strip of yard to keep green: chlorine splash, full sun, and mud tracked into the water. We install turf around pools that drains on clay, takes the chlorine, and stays soft and clean underfoot.
A real lawn loses at the water's edge. Chlorine splash and Gulf Coast sun bleach and kill the grass along the coping, rain washes mud over the edge into the pool, and every mow blows clippings into the water. The bare concrete or pavers you put down instead bake hot in August and get slick when wet. Turf around a pool fixes all of it at once, and Houston's long pool season means you use that space most of the year.
We measure the deck, read where the splash-out and storm water go, and build a compacted, open-graded base so water drains straight through instead of standing on the clay. The turf goes down over that base, seamed and edged tight to the coping with no strip left to mow. We can run it wall to wall or inset it between pavers and travertine. The fibers are lead-free and UV-stable, so the color holds and the surface stays softer and safer than hard deck under bare feet.
No. We install lead-free, UV-stable turf built to hold its color, so the constant chlorine splash and hard Houston sun at the water's edge do not bleach it the way they kill and yellow real sod. The fibers are made for that exposure. This is the strip of yard where a live lawn struggles most, and it is where turf around a pool earns its place.
Yes, in two ways. There is no soil at the edge, so nobody tracks mud into the pool and rain does not wash dirt over the coping. And there is nothing to mow, so no grass clippings blow into the water. That means less debris in your skimmer and filter, and fewer muddy paw prints on the deck after a Houston storm.
Turf gives better grip than wet concrete or smooth pavers, and the pile has a little give, so it is softer on bare feet and on a knee that hits it. We seam and edge it tight to the coping so there is no lip to catch a toe. Splash-out drains straight through instead of pooling on top, which keeps the surface from staying slick.
Yes, and it is a popular look here. We set turf strips between pavers or run it up to a travertine deck so you get the clean green without a full lawn. Each piece is measured, cut, and edged to the stone so the lines stay crisp. It is a common request for Houston pool decks that want turf and pavers together.
These are the poolside spots where grass burns out and bare deck gets too hot. If one of them is around your pool, turf holds where a lawn will not.

We strip the existing lawn and excavate down to a clean, stable sub-grade. Old roots, thatch, and loose topsoil all come out, because anything organic left behind will settle later and telegraph through the finished turf.
Flexible poly board is staked around the entire perimeter to lock the base in place. It holds your shape through curves and radii, keeps the aggregate from migrating into beds, and gives the turf a clean edge to be fastened to.
The first base layer goes down and is graded for drainage. This is the load-bearing course that carries foot traffic and keeps the surface from rutting, and it is where the finished contours of the yard are established.
A second, finer layer is screeded over the first to true the surface. Two layers instead of one is what separates a lawn that stays flat for years from one that dips and waves after the first wet season.
The base is plate-compacted to spec, then the turf is rolled out, allowed to relax, and cut to the yard. Seams are aligned to a single blade direction and joined so they disappear, and the turf is nailed off along every edge.
Silica infill is spread and worked in with a power broom, lifting every blade upright as it goes. Infill is what gives the lawn its ballast, its underfoot feel, and its ability to stand back up after traffic.
We do a final groom, clear the site, and walk the finished yard with you edge to edge. What you are left with is a lawn that looks cut every day of the year, with no mowing, watering, or seasonal brown-out.

Every yard we install gets measured twice, leveled right, and finished like it’s our own backyard. If a job isn’t done the right way, it’s not a job we’re willing to put our name on, plain and simple.
By 2030, we want to help turn 10,000 Houston backyards into low-water, low-maintenance green spaces. It’s our way of making Houston greener and more sustainable, giving families more time to enjoy their yards instead of maintaining them.
From your first quote to the final walkthrough, we keep pricing fair, communication honest, and show up when we say we will. It’s our way of making sure every customer feels taken care of, not just sold to.

Around a Houston pool, turf holds up better than plain concrete or stone in a few honest ways. It stays cooler underfoot in the sun, it is soft and slip-resistant when wet, it drains fast, and it never cracks or heaves the way a slab does. Our own favorite look mixes the two: we love setting pavers with strips of turf running between them, so you get a firm walking surface and cool green lines at the same time, the best of both.
No. Quality turf fibers are UV-stable and chemical-stable, so both chlorine splash-out and salt-water-system pool water will not fade, bleach, or break them down. An occasional rinse with the hose keeps the surface clean, and that is about all the care it asks for at the water's edge.
Salt-water pools and traditional chlorine pools both sit fine against the turf. The color and the fibers are built for that exposure, which is why turf outlasts a live lawn at the water's edge.

Turf around a pool is priced per square foot installed, and most work falls in our general range of $9 to $15 per square foot. Pool projects usually sit toward the higher end of that range, because of all the detailed cutting and fitting around the coping, the curves, and the paver-and-turf strip work. We measure on site and give you the real number before any work starts.
There is no flat rate, and we will not quote one over the phone. We measure the deck on site, tell you the real number before any work starts, and the estimate is free.

What goes into your quote

A lawn that drains on clay, holds up to dogs and August sun, and stays green without a sprinkler.

Tour-quality greens with true roll, custom contours, and the cup count you want.

Turf worked in with beds, pavers, and borders so the whole yard reads as one plan.
Most residential projects are complete in 2–4 days. Larger commercial installs typically take 1–2 weeks.
Every install carries the manufacturer's product warranty against fading and wear, plus our own workmanship coverage on seams, edging, and base. Full terms come with your proposal.
Yes. We install lead-free, non-toxic turf over a permeable base that drains quickly, and we can add an antimicrobial infill for pet areas to keep odours down.
A rinse now and then and an occasional cross-brush of the high-traffic paths. No mowing, no watering, no fertiliser, and no seasonal brown-out.
Turf runs warmer than a natural lawn in direct sun. We specify cooler yarn and lighter infill where a yard gets full afternoon exposure, and a quick rinse brings the surface temperature straight back down.
Pricing depends on square footage, the turf you choose, and how much prep the site needs. We measure on site and give you a fixed written quote before any work starts.
