Turf Mission
We started TNT Turf because Houston families deserve better than losing weekends to mowing and watering. Our mission is simple, give you a lawn you can enjoy every day, all year long, without the work that usually comes with it.

Your dog is hard on a lawn, and Houston's clay and heat finish the job. We install artificial grass for dogs that drains after a storm, holds up to daily traffic, and rinses clean so the yard stays fresh through August.
A dog yard in Houston takes a beating. The dogs wear a muddy track along the fence, dig at the shade line, and turn one corner into a urine dead spot the grass never grows back on. Add clay soil that holds water for days and long, humid summers that make old urine smell worse, and a real lawn does not stand a chance. Artificial grass for dogs fixes the yard and the smell at the same time.
We build pet areas to move liquid out fast. We strip the old lawn, re-grade the low spots, and lay a compacted double base that drains a Gulf downpour straight down. The turf goes over it, seamed tight and anchored at the edges so no dog can pull it up. An antimicrobial pet infill traps odor, and a weekly hose rinse keeps it fresh. No mud, no dead patches, no mowing.
Odor comes from urine sitting in the pile and breaking down, and Houston's long, humid summers speed that up. We build pet areas to move it out fast. The turf backing is fully perforated, the base under it is open aggregate, and the infill is an antimicrobial, zeolite-style fill that traps ammonia. Urine flushes straight through instead of pooling, and a quick hose rinse once a week keeps it fresh through August.
Houston clay is the reason a natural dog yard turns to mud: water hits it and stops. Our pet turf sits on a compacted double base that drains a Gulf downpour straight down instead of holding it on top. There is no bare dirt left for paws to churn, so nothing gets tracked inside. The surface is usable again within minutes of the rain stopping.
No. A real lawn gives way along fence lines and gates where dogs run the same route every day. Turf does not. We seam it tight and anchor the edges into the base, so there is no loose seam for a dog to pull up and no bare track to wear in. If you have a heavy digger, tell us when we quote so we can add extra edge anchoring.
It helps with both. Fleas and ticks breed in living grass and damp soil, and turf removes that habitat. There is also no reason to spray weed killer or fertilizer where your dog plays, because there are no weeds to treat and nothing to feed. That means no lawn pesticides in the yard your dog digs, rolls, and naps in every day.
These are the yards where a real lawn never survives the dog. If one of them sounds like your back yard, turf will hold where grass keeps failing.

We strip the existing lawn and excavate down to a clean, stable sub-grade. Old roots, thatch, and loose topsoil all come out, because anything organic left behind will settle later and telegraph through the finished turf.
Flexible poly board is staked around the entire perimeter to lock the base in place. It holds your shape through curves and radii, keeps the aggregate from migrating into beds, and gives the turf a clean edge to be fastened to.
The first base layer goes down and is graded for drainage. This is the load-bearing course that carries foot traffic and keeps the surface from rutting, and it is where the finished contours of the yard are established.
A second, finer layer is screeded over the first to true the surface. Two layers instead of one is what separates a lawn that stays flat for years from one that dips and waves after the first wet season.
The base is plate-compacted to spec, then the turf is rolled out, allowed to relax, and cut to the yard. Seams are aligned to a single blade direction and joined so they disappear, and the turf is nailed off along every edge.
Silica infill is spread and worked in with a power broom, lifting every blade upright as it goes. Infill is what gives the lawn its ballast, its underfoot feel, and its ability to stand back up after traffic.
We do a final groom, clear the site, and walk the finished yard with you edge to edge. What you are left with is a lawn that looks cut every day of the year, with no mowing, watering, or seasonal brown-out.

Pet turf is built to move liquid and stand up to dogs, and that is what sets it apart from regular landscape turf. It uses a shorter, denser pile that hides and cleans off waste, a more permeable backing that lets urine drain straight through instead of pooling, and an antimicrobial infill that keeps odor down. The fibers and base are tougher too, so they take daily digging and running without breaking down.
Standard landscape turf is built to look like a lawn. Pet turf is built to take a dog, so it drains faster, cleans easier, and holds up to daily wear that would tear a regular yard apart.

Pet turf holds up for many years of heavy daily dog traffic. The color is UV-stable, so it will not fade in the strong Houston sun the way a natural lawn browns out and thins. On top of that, the turf is backed by the manufacturer's multi-year warranty, so you are covered for the long haul.
No. Dog urine will not ruin or damage quality pet turf. It does not break down the fibers or the backing, and the perforated backing drains it straight through to the base below. The antimicrobial infill neutralizes the odor, and an occasional rinse with the hose keeps the surface fresh. Damage is not the concern here, smell is, and the infill and a quick rinse handle that.
The perforated backing lets urine pass straight through to the base underneath, so nothing sits and pools on the surface.
Antimicrobial infill traps the ammonia in urine and neutralizes the smell, so the yard does not turn sour in the Houston heat.
Urine does not break down quality turf fibers or backing. A quick rinse now and then is all it takes to keep things fresh.

Most residential projects are complete in 2–4 days. Larger commercial installs typically take 1–2 weeks.

Yes. We install lead-free, non-toxic turf over a permeable base that drains quickly, and we can add an antimicrobial infill for pet areas to keep odours down.
A rinse now and then and an occasional cross-brush of the high-traffic paths. No mowing, no watering, no fertiliser, and no seasonal brown-out.
Turf runs warmer than a natural lawn in direct sun. We specify cooler yarn and lighter infill where a yard gets full afternoon exposure, and a quick rinse brings the surface temperature straight back down.
Pricing depends on square footage, the turf you choose, and how much prep the site needs. We measure on site and give you a fixed written quote before any work starts.
