A fenced residents' dog lawn in artificial turf, planted with young trees between apartment buildings

Medical Center

A shared dog lawn that stays usable and does not smell.

Project Overview

An Enclosed
Dog Lawn in the Medical Center

A fenced residents' lawn between buildings, planted with young trees and lit for evening use. In a dense residential block this is the only patch of green the dogs get, which means it takes more traffic in a week than a private lawn takes in a year.

Shared pet lawns are built on an open aggregate base with a pet-rated, fully perforated turf so liquid passes straight through rather than sitting in the backing. That, plus a fall to a drainage point and routine rinsing, is what keeps a communal dog lawn usable instead of becoming a complaint.
