Turf Mission
We started TNT Turf because Houston families deserve better than losing weekends to mowing and watering. Our mission is simple, give you a lawn you can enjoy every day, all year long, without the work that usually comes with it.

Your Houston balcony, terrace, or rooftop deck sits on a bare concrete slab that bakes all summer and grows nothing. We install artificial grass right over it, no soil and no digging, so a small unused space turns into green space you actually use.
Most Houston condos, townhomes, and high-rises give you one piece of private outdoor space, and it is almost always a concrete slab. In Midtown, the Medical Center, and Downtown towers, that balcony or terrace has no soil, so you cannot plant a lawn. The concrete soaks up the August sun and gets too hot to stand on barefoot. A lot of these spaces sit empty because there is nothing soft or green to make them worth using.
We turn that slab into usable space. The turf lays right over concrete, pavers, or a waterproofed roof membrane, so there is no excavation and no dirt hauled up an elevator. A cushioned pad softens the hard surface and lifts the turf off the slab, so water flows to your existing drains. We cut it to the exact shape of the space and secure the edges, and UV-stable turf keeps the surface cooler underfoot than bare concrete.
No. Synthetic turf and a thin pad weigh far less than soil and sod, which is why turf works on decks and terraces where a real lawn never could. There is no heavy dirt load on the structure. On a rooftop we keep the system light and lay it over the membrane so the deck carries only the turf, not a garden's worth of soil and standing water.
Often, yes. Many Houston condo boards and high-rise buildings have rules about what goes on a balcony or terrace. We give you the product spec sheet and a written description of the install to submit with your request, including that it is non-permanent and does not glue to the structure. Read your own building rules first, because we cannot speak for an individual association or HOA.
Yes. On a balcony or terrace we can install turf that is secured at the edges without gluing it to the slab, so it lifts clean if you move or the building asks. This non-permanent method suits renters and condo owners who want green space now without a change they cannot undo. A glued-down install is also available where you want it to stay put.
No, when it is done right. On a waterproofed roof we do not drill into or puncture the membrane. The turf and pad lay over the top and are held in place around the perimeter, and we keep the roof drains clear so water still reaches them. Protecting the membrane and the drain path is the part that matters most on a rooftop, so we plan the layout around both.
These are the hard, hot, soil-free spaces where a lawn was never an option. If your outdoor space is a concrete slab, turf is what makes it usable.

We strip the existing lawn and excavate down to a clean, stable sub-grade. Old roots, thatch, and loose topsoil all come out, because anything organic left behind will settle later and telegraph through the finished turf.
Flexible poly board is staked around the entire perimeter to lock the base in place. It holds your shape through curves and radii, keeps the aggregate from migrating into beds, and gives the turf a clean edge to be fastened to.
The first base layer goes down and is graded for drainage. This is the load-bearing course that carries foot traffic and keeps the surface from rutting, and it is where the finished contours of the yard are established.
A second, finer layer is screeded over the first to true the surface. Two layers instead of one is what separates a lawn that stays flat for years from one that dips and waves after the first wet season.
The base is plate-compacted to spec, then the turf is rolled out, allowed to relax, and cut to the yard. Seams are aligned to a single blade direction and joined so they disappear, and the turf is nailed off along every edge.
Silica infill is spread and worked in with a power broom, lifting every blade upright as it goes. Infill is what gives the lawn its ballast, its underfoot feel, and its ability to stand back up after traffic.
We do a final groom, clear the site, and walk the finished yard with you edge to edge. What you are left with is a lawn that looks cut every day of the year, with no mowing, watering, or seasonal brown-out.

Yes, this is one of the most popular uses for balcony turf in Houston. Over the hard balcony surface we lay a drainage layer and a perforated-backing turf, so urine rinses straight through to the balcony drain, and antimicrobial infill keeps the odor down. It is perfect for apartment and condo dogs that have no yard, and it works for renters too because it can be taken up when you move.
It is one of the first things high-rise and apartment dog owners ask us about, and the answer is yes. No yard, no problem, and no more elevator trip every time the dog needs to go out.

The best balcony or rooftop turf has a permeable backing for fast drainage, UV-stable fibers that take full-sun rooftop exposure without fading, a shorter dense pile that lies flat on a hard surface, and antimicrobial infill if a dog will use it. We help you match the right product to your space.
A backing full of drainage holes lets a Houston downpour flow straight through the grass to the slab and out to your existing drains.
Fibers built for full-sun rooftop exposure hold their color and do not fade or go brittle in the Texas heat.
A shorter, tightly packed pile lies flat and firm on a hard slab, so it looks clean and stands up to daily foot traffic.
Like any surface, synthetic grass warms up in direct Houston sun, but it stays cooler than bare concrete or composite decking, and a quick rinse with the hose or a bit of shade brings it right back down. Lighter-colored, heat-managed turf and the right infill help on a full-sun rooftop.
We will not tell you it stays cold in July, because no surface does. What we can tell you is that it beats a bare slab, and it is easy to bring down when you want to use it.
What keeps it cool

Turf that drains on Houston clay, holds up to dogs and August sun, and stays green without a sprinkler.

Antimicrobial infill over a fast-draining base keeps pet areas clean and odor-free.

Turf worked into beds, borders, and hardscape so the whole yard reads as one finished space.
Most residential projects are complete in 2–4 days. Larger commercial installs typically take 1–2 weeks.
Every install carries the manufacturer's product warranty against fading and wear, plus our own workmanship coverage on seams, edging, and base. Full terms come with your proposal.
Yes. We install lead-free, non-toxic turf over a permeable base that drains quickly, and we can add an antimicrobial infill for pet areas to keep odours down.
A rinse now and then and an occasional cross-brush of the high-traffic paths. No mowing, no watering, no fertiliser, and no seasonal brown-out.
Turf runs warmer than a natural lawn in direct sun. We specify cooler yarn and lighter infill where a yard gets full afternoon exposure, and a quick rinse brings the surface temperature straight back down.
Pricing depends on square footage, the turf you choose, and how much prep the site needs. We measure on site and give you a fixed written quote before any work starts.
