Richmond
One long curve, cut on site to fit the deck.
Project OverviewA Curved
A Curved
Poolside Lawn in Richmond
A single sweeping curve of lawn running between the pool deck and the fence line, with palms and shrub planting along the boundary and a garden building at the far end. The curve is the whole design — it takes what would be a leftover strip and gives the yard a shape.
Long curves are cut on site against the finished hardscape, never pre-formed, because a deck edge is never quite the radius the drawing says. The turf is anchored continuously along the curve so it holds that line, and the pile runs down the length of the sweep so it reads cleanly from the house. The second frame is a free-form practice green from the same Richmond work, boulder-edged and set into gravel.
