Turf runs the whole way around this pool, from the brick house wall out to the timber fence, with the coping sitting proud of the grass on every side. It is a simple layout done cleanly, which is harder than it sounds when the lawn has to close on itself around a rectangle.

A full-perimeter surround has four internal corners, and corners are where turf is most likely to lift. Each one is cut, tucked to the coping and anchored, and the base is graded to fall away from the pool on all sides so splash-out never gets a chance to sit under the surface.
