A kidney-shaped practice green with four flags set into a fenced artificial turf back lawn

Timbergrove

Four cups, so there is always a different putt.

Project Overview

A Four-Hole
Practice Green in Timbergrove

A kidney-shaped green with four cups and flags set into a fenced back lawn, so there is a different line to play from wherever you drop a ball. Around the side of the house, the same turf runs past a large mature tree and out towards the pool.

Four cups in a green this size means the contours have to work in several directions at once — a fall that gives one hole a good break must not make another unputtable. A second green on the same street runs in under a covered patio and past the outdoor kitchen, which is a different problem again: no daylight to speak of, and a hard ceiling that fixes exactly how the surface reads.
