A large open lawn fronting a multi-family building — the shared green that residents cross, sit on, and walk dogs across all day. Natural grass in that role wears to dirt on the desire lines within a season and never gets a chance to recover.

At this size the base is a civils job: strip, grade to fall, compact an aggregate platform, then roll out and seam wide panels with the pile running one way so the lawn reads flat from every window above it. The perimeter is anchored to the fence line and the walk edges, which is where a shared lawn gets pulled at.
