An artificial turf lawn curving between deep flowering borders, with a white gazebo at one side

Kingwood

A garden lawn shaped around the planting, not the other way round.

Project Overview

A Garden Lawn
Among the Beds in Kingwood

This is a plantsman's garden — deep mixed borders, flowering perennials and mature trees — with the lawn cut to whatever shape the beds left over. The turf follows those curves rather than forcing them straight, which is what keeps it reading as a garden rather than a green rectangle.

Curved edges are where turf installations are won or lost. Each curve is cut on site, not pre-formed, and anchored continuously along its length so the border does not pull away from the bed as the ground moves. The pile is laid in one consistent direction across the whole lawn so the curves do not shade differently from each other.
