A shaded back lawn of artificial turf under a large tree, with a small practice green beside the trunk

Meyerland

Deep shade is where synthetic turf wins outright.

Project Overview

A Shaded Lawn and
Practice Green in Meyerland

A back lawn under a heavy tree canopy, laid fence to fence, with a small practice green cut into it beside the trunk. This is ground that will not carry natural grass — too little light, too much root competition — and it had almost certainly been patchy for years before this.

Working under an established tree means working around the root plate, not through it. The base is built up rather than dug deep near the trunk, so the tree is not damaged and the surface still finishes level. Turf holds full colour in shade that would leave a seeded lawn thin and mossy.
